Why do I like TFTPD32? Because it's so freakin' simple! When you're in a data center and need a quick TFTP server...there it is.

...who knew they had one for HTTP? There it is: HFS - A 600KB "insta-web server" for Windows.

Update: A few malware detection utilities flag this as malware simply because it's a .exe file named HFS. It's completely safe...I've been using it for at least 32 minutes and nothing bad has happened...

If you are on a mac or linux, you have a super simple way of doing this and its built in! Open up Terminal and cd into the directory you want (you'll need a little command line knowledge) and then type:

python -m SimpleHTTPServer

This creates a web directory under the current folder on port 8000. Yoou can view this by going to:

http://127.0.0.1:8000

And if your in the DC you view it by visiting your address, just make sure to temporarily disable or open that port of your firewall!!

Hi Yes it works find on Windows 7 64bit, I say that with it currently running on this very laptop.

There is also a tftpd64 for the 64bit MS OSs.
It is working fine for me the 64bit on a Win7 64bit Enterprise version (while the 32 bit one on the same ver of Win ... wasn't).

Sure, the main link from http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/ is reporting as malware, but if you visit the forum and download the later beta builds, specifically 279, that's coming down clean.
Really helpful Jeremy - needed this to get my NetApp filer updated in easily and it's fantastic.
